Chillicothe, Mo. - Summer School Director Pam Brobst says a total of 1,056 (over 10 percent of the R-2 District’s student body) are enrolled for the classes — up about 150 students from last year. Brobst said the district is offering more classes for high school and middle school students, which has attracted more students. Brobst said there are also more elementary students enrolled this year than last year. The program’s free breakfasts and lunches which are offered during the day have also probably attracted more students, she said. Students are taking summer school classes at Field and Dewey School and the high school.
