SCHOOL DISTRICT COMPUTER LAB SCHEDULE

Chillicothe R-II School District is offering open access to district computer labs for students, parents, and all community patrons. Beginning Tuesday, September 5. Labs will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Central School.

All labs are supervised by district staff members from 3:30-6:30, and from 5:30-6:00, some type of instruction will be given by the supervisors (see below). All community patrons and students will sign and adhere to the district’s Acceptable Use Policy. Lab use will be primarily for academic work, research, and learning computer applications. Games, MSN, chat will be prohibited. Students attending Garrison, Dewey, Field, and Central schools must be accompanied by an adult. Computers will have internet access and Office 2003 for the use of the community. Please stop by and utilize the resources your school district is able to provide. Students, parents and community members are encouraged to use this free service. A supervisor is on hand to assist with technical issues.

Tuesday, September 5: Learn to Type- use our keyboarding software- come back every session for more practice.

Thursday, September 7: Smartboard- see how it works - a great presentation tool for businesses.

Tuesday, September 12: How’s it All Connected? Come and learn how every part of a computer connects to make it all work.

Thursday, September 14: Chillicothe District Webpage Introduction - tour the Chillicothe District site - find information relevant to your child or see what great things are happening in our district.

Tuesday, September 19: Free email accounts. Learn how to set up a free email account that you can use anywhere.

Thursday, September 21: Elementary reading and math sites. Take a look at some sites you and child can use at home or in open lab to review basic math and reading skills.

Tuesday, September 26: Citation Maker - learn how to use this online citation maker for those many reports that need citations through out the year. Great class for students in college!

Thursday, September 28: Type, save and print a document.
